Children on a Sunday Morning
We believe that children are as important as adults within Freshwaters and we are keen to encourage them to take part in the life of the church, including our Sunday morning meetings.

Crèche for children under 5
At the moment we run a crèche during the main talk on a Sunday morning.  This provides a safe caring environment for babies and toddlers but does not, at the moment, include any formal teaching.  For more info click here

Children 5 to 11
At the moment on two Sundays each month children of this age are able to take part in our ‘Lionhearts’ programme which will involve them being in the back room for part of the main meeting on a Sunday morning.

Lionhearts Explorers
These meet on the first Sunday of each month.  Children will normally be called after the worship time just before the main talk.  These sessions are designed to help the children to explore a number of themes regarding their growing relationship with God – click here to download the document  ‘Lionhearts Themes’ for more information.

Lionhearts Prayers
These meet on the second Sunday of each month.  Children will normally be called after the worship time just before the main talk.  These sessions are desiged to help the children explore hearing from and talking to God in a way that is appropriate for their age.

Lionhearts Worshippers
These meet on the third Sunday of each month.  Children will be called at the beginning of the meeting and will go next door.   Here they will receive teaching and experience of worship.  These sessions are designed to help children to understand and enjoy worship as part of their every day lives.  They are taught amongst other things, different ways of responding in worship and the meaning of songs.

Once their session has finished, normally during the main talk, the children will be asked to quietly return to their parents.

Main meetings
On the weeks when the children are not attending Lionhearts they are encouraged to take part in the Worship and to listen to the talk.  We are aware that where the talk is not focused towards the children or is too long they will find it difficult to concentrate.  Parents are free to bring books or drawing materials for the children to use quietly with parents during this time.  We do also provide some materials for this with packs being provided for each child.
